Kenridge Primary School
Professional Cricket

The main focus of Professional Cricket Coaching is to develop/enhance specific cricketing skills on a more personal level. The coaches are able to focus on specific areas of your child’s techniques, abilities and skills; hence the personal attention that is created in smaller groups and the possibility of individual interaction between player and coach.

All the children who attend Professional Cricket Coaching receive certificates for various aspects of the game: batting, bowling, fielding, attitude, commitment, sportsmanship, etc. We watch videos which are followed by discussions that allow the cricketers to understand the game in more depth. It is our goal that the cricketers will not only play better cricket, but also have a better understanding and appreciation of the game.

In the past, Professional Cricket Coaching was run by outside coaches, but 2009 brought about some changes. The coaching team comprises of Mr Q. van Dyk, Mr N. Aldrich, Mr N. Visser and Mr R. Aldrich, all of whom are educators at the school and have an in-depth knowledge when it comes to the skills and appreciation of the fantastic sport...cricket. The practices take place on Friday afternoons from 14:30 - 16:00. At Kenridge, we don’t like cricket, we LOVE it!
